How To Lead Yourself Into Temptation

Today’s worship gathering was a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness, our global calling, and our mission as a church community. We commissioned a team heading to serve our sister church in the Dominican Republic, celebrating our role in God’s global Church and the privilege of being part of His work beyond our local context. We also celebrated the grand opening of our newly renovated kids’ ministry space—a vibrant, gospel-centered environment designed to reach the next generation in meaningful ways. This renovation isn’t just about fresh paint and games; it’s about spiritual formation and creating space where young hearts can grow in faith. Thanks to the generosity of our church family, we are investing in the future and seeing firsthand how sacrificial giving fuels Kingdom impact.
In this week’s message, we focused on the final line of the Lord’s Prayer: “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” We unpacked how temptation, though universal, is not from God—but God always provides a way out. We identified four subtle patterns that often lead us into temptation: discouragement, a critical spirit, a frantic pace, and neglecting worship. These open the door to spiritual attack, but God has given us tools to stand strong—encouragement, rest, and intentional worship. When worship becomes a lifestyle, not just a Sunday event, our homes and hearts become places where God’s truth reigns and the enemy cannot stay. As we lean into our identity in Christ and resist temptation, we are reminded that spiritual growth and daily faithfulness are acts of worship that shape every part of our lives.
