How To Be A Peacemaker

Peace is something we celebrate during Christmas, but peacemaking is something we’re called to live. Scripture reminds us that peace isn’t always possible with everyone, yet our responsibility is still clear: as far as it depends on us, we choose a posture of humility and grace. Even in tension, God forms something deeper in us.
Conflict has a way of revealing what we’ve been feeding—our old nature or our new life in Christ. When we respond from our flesh, we protect ourselves and escalate the divide. But when we respond from Christ in us, conflict becomes an opportunity for God to be glorified and for relationships to move toward healing.
At the center of reconciliation is the cross. Jesus covers the sins we’ve committed and the sins committed against us, freeing us from shame, bitterness, and the need to keep score. When we focus on the cross instead of the offense, we step into the freedom God intends—and we reflect His heart to a world watching how we handle conflict.
