January 2023: Week 5

Hey Families! We had such an amazing month with your child. Today we wrapped up our series in Preschool on Jesus’ amazing miracles with the story of Jesus healing a blind man. Your child learned how Jesus made mud and put it on the man’s eyes. After the blind man washed the mud off his face He was able to see, just like Jesus told him (John 9:1-12). Jesus is the only one who could do something that amazing. All month long your child has been working on memorizing Luke 2:47 which says, “Everyone who heard Him was amazed.” This week, encourage your child to say this verse to 5 different people. Those may be people in your family, a friend you could call on the phone, or even your child’s lifegroup leader!

Our Elementary classes also wrapped up their series on wisdom and knowledge with the story of when John the Baptist was in prison (Matthew 11:1-6). This story was used to teach the children the importance of asking, if there is something they don’t understand. They learned how God is never afraid of their questions and how they have trusted people in their life that they can ask these questions to. We encourage you to make time this week to allow your child to ask you faith questions. You may not have every answer, and that’s okay! Make space for your child to be heard and see how you may even go about finding an answer together, by studying God’s Word. Know that your Family Ministry staff is always here to support and provide resources as you invite your child into deeper faith conversations.
