Welcome to NewHope Groups!

We believe that NewHope Groups is the front door to community at NewHope Church.

Growing in your relationship with Jesus is much more fun when you're surrounded with people who have the same goal. Each semester opportunities for friendship, connection, bible study, building healthy marriages, leadership development, and mens and womens groups are availble to you!

We understand that life can be unpredictable and being a part of a NewHope Group is an important step in your personal discipleship journey. Jesus says in Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”

To foster commitment and unity within our NewHope Groups, all participants will be asked to sign a covenant. This covenant is a shared agreement that each member commits to being an active part of the group for the entire semester. You can preview the covenant here. We appreciate your dedication to this meaningful experience!

Every Thought Captive

10 spots open

"What you think about creates your attitudes, governs your emotions, determines your behavior, shapes your relationships, and ultimately defines your life.”
This group is dedicated to the transformative journey of renewing our minds and aligning our thoughts with God's truth. We will dive deep into the essential topic of mental and spiritual renewal, exploring how our thoughts can either lead us towards growth or hinder our faith journey.

This semester, we will read Kyle Idleman's Every Thought Captive (purchase book for group wherever books are sold), a book that will serve as a guide for our discussions and reflections. Through heartfelt conversations, prayer, and personal sharing, we will create a supportive environment where we can challenge and redirect our thoughts in light of Scripture. We will encourage one another to take every thought captive, submitting them to the truth of God's Word, so we may experience true transformation and spiritual growth.

Our life group is a warm and inclusive community that welcomes everyone who desires to cultivate a mindset that honors God. Let's journey together as we take every thought captive for His glory! The group will meet bi-weekly on Monday's at a home in Durham. We will also participate in a NH Missions serve experience and fun event. When signing up for the group the leader will respond back within 24 hours via email to confirm your attendance and commitment to the group. The group begins on Monday, 9.22.

Men of New Hope

14 spots open

God’s Word is clear about the importance of godly friendships — and how God designs them to complete us spiritually. If you ever hope to win the battles you face in your spiritual journey, you must be connected to godly men. The problem is that many men today act as if they don’t need friends — and they’re paying the price. Risking relationships is not easy for men, but it’s non-negotiable for God’s man. When you stand with others who share your spiritual goals, you achieve them faster. That’s God’s way. Godly friendships create consistency, provide care and support, stimulate healthy confession, produce new connections, and make you complete in Christ. They produce positive changes in your character, convictions, conduct, and commitment to do life God’s way. Join us for this 9 week group and discover all that God has for you in the season ahead!

Managing Anxiety: Yours & Theirs

13 spots open

Reactivity is contagious. It spreads within us as individuals until it becomes unmanageable, and it spreads like wildfire between people. Reactivity keeps us from encountering deep peace and freedom and it causes relational damage and stuck patterns. But it doesn’t have to be this way. With some careful observation, diagnostic tools, and practical habits, you can learn to flip the power dynamic and move from being managed by anxiety to managing it. You can lower reactivity in yourself and others and displace your anxiety with peace. You can be calm, aware, and present.
Anxiety carries a message that keeps you stuck and trapped, but you can learn to notice when you are living by that message of anxiety and replace it with a true belief of freedom and peace.
This group meets on Tuesday's at the church. Each participant will need to purchase the study guide " Managing Anxiety: Yours and Theirs, Group Study Workbook, Faith-Based Edition" by Steve Cuss on Amazon.
We will also participate in a serve experience with NH Missions and a fun experience. When signing up for the group the leader will respond back within 24 hours via email to confirm your attendance and commitment to the group. The group begins on Tuesday, 9.16. To get the most from the group experience we ask that participants effort to attend all the group gatherings, but commit to attend 7 out of the 8 group gatherings.
