Join a NewHope Life Group

We believe that NewHope Life Groups are the front door to community at NewHope Church.

Growing in your relationship with Jesus is much more fun when you're surrounded with people who have the same goal. Each semester opportunities for friendship, connection, bible study, building healthy marriages, leadership development, and mens and womens groups are availble to you!

We understand that life can be unpredictable and being a part of a NewHope Life Group is an important step in your personal discipleship journey. Jesus says in Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”

To foster commitment and unity within our NewHope Life Groups, all participants will be asked to sign a covenant. This covenant is a shared agreement that each member commits to being an active part of the group for the entire semester. You can preview the covenant here. We appreciate your dedication to this meaningful experience!

The Familiar Stranger

25 spots open

Christians today are hungry for authentic spiritual experiences, yet all too often they don't have the knowledge of or relationship with the Holy Spirit. The confusion and unfamiliarity that surround the Person of the Holy Spirit, lead too many Christians either to sideline him or misunderstand what he means for their spiritual lives. For a generation searching desperately for an experiential spirituality, there's good news: the Holy Spirit's indwelling presence to empower and transform is freely available. Using Tyler Staton's "The Familiar Stranger" as our guide, alongside the church's sermon series, participants will move beyond simply gaining knowledge about the Holy Spirit toward experiencing His presence, learning to recognize His voice, and partnering with Him in everyday life. We invite you to join us in this study that will meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 PM at the church beginning Tuesday October 6 and ending Tuesday December 8. We will not meet on Tuesday 11/24 for Thanksgiving break. In addition, the group will also participate in a Fun experience and a Serve experience with NewHope Missions. When signing up for the group, you can expect that the group leader will respond back to you within 24 hours via text or email to confirm your attendance and commitment to the group. The Gift of Sabbath

16 spots open

In a culture that celebrates busyness and constant productivity, Jesus offers a different way—a way of abiding, resting, and delighting in God’s presence.
This 8-week women’s group will explore practical ways to cultivate a biblical rhythm of Sabbath, helping us slow down, rest in God’s presence, delight in His goodness, and intentionally practice the way of Jesus in our everyday lives. Together, we will study Scripture, engage in meaningful discussion, and learn practical rhythms that can be lived out beyond our time together.
In addition to exploring Sabbath, we will spend time learning about the spiritual disciplines of silence and solitude, recognizing that creating space to be with God is foundational to spiritual formation. Participants will also have the opportunity to develop a personalized plan and practical rhythms that support a lifelong practice of rest and communion with God.
All participants will need to buy The Sabbath Practice Companion Guide by Practicing the Way (John Mark Comer) and bring their Bible, notebook and a pen. The group will also participate in a serve experience with NewHope Missions and a fun event. When signing up for the group the leader will respond back within 24 hours via text or email to confirm your attendance and commitment to the group. The group meets at the church and begins on Tuesday, 9.22. Childcare is provided and children must be registered before the semester begins.

Spontaneous Blessings

16 spots open

We are a diverse mix of individuals and couples ranging in age from 20s to 80s. Everyone is welcome! We will be doing two studies this semester - Unbreakable Courage by Max Lucado and Demolishing Doubt by Cliffe and Stuart Knechtle. Information on the study guides will be provided. The first study discusses how Elijah may be the perfect hero for our times. The struggles he faced are all too familiar: standing firm for God in a world determined to turn away from Him, feeling outnumbered and overwhelmed, and wrestling with moments of loneliness, anxiety, and discouragement. And yet, despite impossible opposition, Elijah chose to trust God when the road ahead looked uncertain. The second study looks at our culture where skepticism is the norm and many believers wrestle with doubt: Does God really exist? Can the Bible be trusted? Is there credible evidence for Jesus’ resurrection? The Demolishing Doubt video Bible study will equip us to explore these questions with clarity, confidence, and truth. This group will be meeting at a home in West Cary (about ten minutes from the church) on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30pm, with the first meeting being Wednesday September 23. In addition, the group will also participate in a Fun experience and a Serve experience with NewHope Missions. When signing up for the group, you can expect that the group leader will respond back to you within 24 hours via text or email to confirm your attendance and commitment to the group.
