What Won’t Be in Heaven?

What will heaven be like? While Scripture doesn't answer every question we have about the afterlife, Revelation 21 gives us a remarkable glimpse into what won’t be in heaven. Pastor Adam begins the Afterlife series by looking at five things we experience on earth that will one day be gone: sickness, sadness, suffering, sin, and death.

For many of us, the things that hurt right now can feel permanent. Whether it’s physical sickness, grief, anxiety, broken relationships, difficult circumstances, or the loss of someone we love, pain has a way of convincing us that this is simply how life will always be. But Revelation 21 gives us a different perspective. God promises that one day He will wipe every tear from our eyes, and there will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain. What hurts here won’t last forever.

The hope of heaven ultimately points us back to Jesus. We don't get to heaven because of our good works, church attendance, giving, or religious accomplishments. Salvation is a free gift received through Jesus Christ. Because Jesus died for our sin and defeated death through His resurrection, those who put their faith in Him have the hope of eternal life.
