December Week 2: Jesus is Here!

Hey Families and welcome to our NewHope Christmas series. In NewHope Kids we are continuing to walk through the Christmas Story, and today we learned about the Birth of Jesus!

Your child learned how Mary and Joseph traveled many miles to Bethlehem. This is where Jesus was born, surrounded by animals ( Luke 2:1-7 )! People had been waiting for the arrival of the Savior. They were expecting a king, or a warrior, they didn’t know Jesus would come as a baby. Your child learned how we can have joy even when plans don’t go the way we expected. 

Throughout this month your child is studying a memory verse. We encourage you to write it down and hang it somewhere prominent in your home, so your entire family can put it to memory! Check out the verse below based on your child’s age group.

Elementary: “[Mary] is going to have a son. You must give him the name Jesus. That’s because he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21 (NIrV)

Preschool: “God has given a son to us.” Isaiah 9:6, NCV
