May: Week 3

Hi Families and happy Sunday. We are so glad you chose to join us today. Today your elementary schooler learned about the story of Peter and John speaking before the Sanhedrin (Acts 3:1-4:21). They learned how the Holy Spirit is with them even when life is scary. Invite your child into a conversation where they share with you things they are scared of. These could be as simple as spiders or thunderstorms, or more bigger worries such as getting a bad grade, or someone they love passing away. Take time to pray with your child over each worry and fear. Encourage your child to turn their worries into prayers by praying every time they feel afraid.

Today your preschooler learned how Timothy and Tabitha helped the early church. Timothy helped by teaching the people all about Jesus and Tabitha helped by making clothes for those who needed it (Acts 9:36-39; 1 Timothy 4:12). Your child learned how they each have a special way that they can help someone around them. This week, encourage your child to help with something they are really good at. If your child is good at drawing, encourage them to make a card for a neighbor. If your child is really fast, ask them to run around the house picking up all the toys that were left out. If your child is good at making friends, encourage them to befriend someone who is sitting alone.
